Love chasing the shuttlecock to impossible-to-reach corners.
Love the feeling of being totally focused on its movement & being mindful of my body movements.
Love to hit the empty spaces of the opponent.
Love to receive all the difficult attacks.
Love to imagine how I can improve.
Realised that some attributes that contribute to successful work in life have helped me in badminton:
1. Be focused. Focus on the 'ball' (shuttlecock), the movements, the opponent and myself, that's all. Don't think of what to eat for supper, chat too much, and especially, don't worry about how lousy I am (well, if I am really lousy, so be it, don't have to feel bad about being amateurish).
2. Be steady. Breath, observe, then swiftly move, with balance. I used to pace backwards instinctively every time the opponent hits, but this proves inefficient as they will like to just hit lightly to the front of court.
3. Tune into the 'Tao'. The way. There is always a way to hit far and high, with the least strength and in the most comfortable manner. The most efficient & natural way is 'Tao'. Instead of just giving hard force and hurting myself, have to listen and discover the 'Tao'.
4. Enjoy. Ignore what other people may see me. Enjoy the process. Appreciate that after the exercise, my body is healthier and I feel more confident.
May the action of the month remains as action of the year. Just do it!
